Yesterday I was burning mid night oil for deadline at Feedgen and went bed around 2.30 AM (IST) with the hope that I could sleep a little more in the morning. But, early this morning around 6.00 AM, I suddenly got a call from a cousin and said “Hey, your hero passed away!”. My cousin is not a techie at all, but he knows how much I love and respect Steve. I got up with doubt and checked the Twitter timeline to confirm. Yes, it’s true. I knew this is going to happen soon one day, but didn’t expect this so soon. I felt like one of my very closed relatives passed way and I couldn’t control my tears.
Needless to say, I’m a Apple fan boy. Not only just for their fancy products, but their way of thinking and innovation behind the product development and quality control. Simon Sinek always quotes that people use Apple products to exhibit who the are. Apple is not just about computers. Instead they are a symbol of peoples’ dignity and show who they are and what they believe in. Can you imagine how hard it is to build such a brand? Steve did it. Cos, he believed in this: “Stay hungry and stay foolish”!
Many people see him as crazy one, the misfit, the rebel, the trouble maker, and etc etc. But he is my role model and my inspiration. Even though we haven’t met in person, Steve is always my respectful mentor. Thank you Steve. Thank your for your invaluable lessons. Thank you for being an inspiration. Thank you for motivating me each and every time I felt down, with your “connecting dots” concept.
My deepest empathy to family, friends, colleagues at Apple and fans like me!
Rest in peace Steve, for you accomplished what you set out to do and your ‘ding’ will remain in the universe forever.
Here is a few list of inspirational stuff I have in my iPhone.
